課程概述

這門課的目的, 在介紹學生熟悉太平洋群島的人與文化。在島嶼有限的環境中, 自然的力量相對強大, 而文化愈顯活潑有彈性. 也成就了豐富多樣的屬於太平洋的文化。太平洋群島地理上與台灣接近; 而與台灣原住民族所使用的語言, 均同屬南島語族. 自是台灣學生學習容忍, 了解, 欣賞異文化一個極佳的起點。

課程目標

課程要求

上課方式 : 本課程鼓勵同學積極參與。上課前十五分鐘由一組同學介紹所選島嶼一則當周新聞，再由老師針對當周主題講授。第三節課為討論課，由負責同學帶領討論指定閱讀文章。每篇文章以15分鐘為限。討論課前每位負責同學要準備好2個問題並提交一份給教師。學期作業將由同學與老師討論後選定一具操作性的題目。此作業將配合「史界公民島」(http://www.core-corner.com/Web2/)太平洋地區的旅遊任務以及送件的時間。題目如太平洋群島留台學生的適應策略；kava飲品的全球化等。部份影片將在課堂上放映，部分將在課外公開放映，同學亦可借出在自己方便的時間看。此外，同學每交出一份六百字內的書面摘要，可得總分一分，以不超出十分為限。
